One of the most common requests from our customers since we started shipping BusKill cables 4 years ago has been for a cable that can be plugged directly into a computer with USB-C ports (without a USB-A to USB-C adapter).

In the past, we generally recommended the use of an adapter or for users to build their own cable. Today, we’re happy to add that you can now buy a BusKill cable with a USB Type-C tip directly from our web store.

What is BusKill?

BusKill is a laptop kill-cord. It’s a USB cable with a magnetic breakaway that you attach to your body and connect to your computer.

If the connection between you to your computer is severed, then your device will lock, shutdown, or shred its encryption keys — thus keeping your encrypted data safe from thieves that steal your device.

How to order

To get a BusKill Cable with a USB-C tip, make sure to choose “USB-Type C” from the variant drop-down menu before adding the item to your cart.

Note that the BusKill cable’s other end (the female USB receptacle) still uses USB Type-A, for accepting USB-A thumb drives.
